In match chat, not just like premade messages#1141

Keep the premade messages but add a chat feature, ofc add a censor for slurs and stuff but I want a way to talk to ppl I actually enjoy playing and maybe like make a friend yk.

It could work if we let people choose what kind of chat they want, like different tiers

• Free, unrestricted chat
• Free chat with slur filters
• Premade messages only
• No chat box at all
  In order to prevent harmful situations between players, if two people with different chat settings are paired for a match, the system will automatically chose the most restricted one for the match between the two, lets say I have free, unrestricted chat, but the other person has chosen pre-made messages only, then we’ll both have pre-made messaging only for the entirety of our interactions.
  BTW, trans rights are human rights.

@Dextercolt I like your idea, happy to see you’re at least being resonable . “Slur filter toggled on/off” is so silly though, that should be on either way.

I’m still confused. You’re mad at the people who are upset about being insulted, but not at the people doing the insulting…? Am I understanding?

Like… “people will always be mean. Get over it .” okay. If that’s true then “people will always be upset about other people being mean. Get over it.” is also true, no? Why does only one group in the conflict get a “pass”?

I guess I don’t understand why only one party is being blamed. You aren’t saying “I wish people would be nice, but I also wish people would be less sensitive.” you’re only saying the latter. I don’t get why.

@Professorx417 I just want chat in the game because its fun to have it in the game. It’s not that deep, also it’s something I’m sure most people would want and enjoy

We currently do not have any plans to add a non-emote based chat feature.

to the anonymous person above… wanting chat because it is fun, is not that deep, i agree.

But that’s not ALL you’re doing.

assuming that the presence of trans people would hypothetically be the thing that prevents this feature from existing, is VERY deep, and a particularly bad and illogical take. Especially when you won’t even begin to blame the people doing the harrassing in the first place.
