I know this game is supposed to be a melee clone but I think the looping offense through tech chasing is too strong and honestly unfun to play against and not particularly interactive or interesting to do.
I think it would be more fun to have stronger outcomes from teching on defense, maybe have a tech attack option (similar to traditional fighting games that have DPs). It would be fast and deter people from braindead offense and make it so offense isn’t so free and riskless.
Maybe faster tech rolls too to prevent how often characters can cover every option.
To me the defense in Rivals2 feels really uninteractive in these situations so it would be cool to see something more interesting.
nah, teching in itself is gives so many options, It would kinda suck to get a tech situation, and then be at big risk to get reversaled. Traditional fighters have much more simplified get up options (excluding tekken but even there the reward is very limited) also, techchasing is not braindead, to get more than 2 reaction based regrabs you have to get through a 50/50 pummel. You probably just suck.
2D fighters have significantly more get-up options due to most games lack of OTGs, which means what you do after get up actually matters. Hope this helps.
