Please make this game appeal to a larger audience#1837

Just to preface, I love this game. I love this game so much I want it to succeed, grow, and explode. In my eyes, I want this game to takeover the spot Brawlhalla has right now. I want it to have 50k players, not 5k.

As of right now this game basically only appeals to competitive-ish platfighter players with $30 to spend. I’ll list some of the audiences that might never try this game just bc of how hostile this game can be to them, and also provide a basic possible suggestion to improving it.

  • Casual players (add more tutorials / less viable but fun characters with “funny” moves, implement rank per chatacters, fix issues with game and server stability, release a casual map pool)
  • Platfighter newcomers (introduce some beginner mode / campaign. the bot practice mode was a great start)
  • Young / Poor players (Brawlhalla mastered this model, and is played globally on a large scale. F2P is good and healthy. Too many of my friends i’ve tried to get in don’t want to spend the $30)
  • Console players (work on crossplay, and a version for said platforms)

This game has crazy potential, but I believe is alienating thousands and thousands of people. I really think the two biggest things would be making it free to play and focusing on the new player experience. I really hope to see this game thrive.

This again?

If they don’t even have the money to buy the game, where are they gonna get the money to buy the skins that sustain this game’s development in the long haul?

Frankly, I rather have a $30 game that give ALL future characters for free, rather than a “free” game that makes you buy each new characters just to compete.
