Allow the winner of a online match to "tip" the loser.#658

G

In Duelyst, the winner can give 5 coins to the losing players after a game, as an extra act of saying GG. Its a silly ammount, but its the action that matters.

It makes losing games a bit sweeter, because you might get some money, and its a nice and warm feeling to know that the other guy also had fun and respects you.

Rivals has a currency system that its perfect for this to be implemented.

Man, I love this idea! Anything to help add a social element! sits super well along side money matches and everything!

Duelyst mentioned, my day’s been improved. And yeah, the tipping system there works great and I see no real reason not to implement it

I never played Duelyst but this is a really cool idea and I’ll share it with the team and see if we can pull it off.

Being able to add a small “gg” or positive message to a variable “tip” amount would be awesome as well. (5-100?)

Too many games end on a scramble that I KNOW has left the other player salty, especially if a ping spike or unfortunate SD happens…but you are unable to message/interact after the final game in a match.

Being able to soften that blow with a short message and some coins would be so cool.

Personally not really a fan of this, since a tipping culture might form where it’s considered good manners to tip and refusing to do so is considered an insult. Much like real life it becomes a tax on the kind.
If the tip amount is fixed to a small amount such that you never spend more than you gain from a match then it’s probably fine, though. Just don’t make it a custom amount please.

“Tipping culture” in real life, where you often are still on the same ambience with someone who you refused to tip, or you can be a returning customer to a place where you returned to tip. This is a online game with a fake currency system.

The system here was also used in Duelyst, and I dont recall people being socially forced to tip the loser. Most people did not even tip at all.

The tip suggested here is completely unrelated to “tip culture”, which I also despite.

could also act similar to toasts in multiversus where maybe you get a few ‘tips’ everyday for free that you can give to people online where they receive a small amount of coins and then you could also potentially buy them in bulk with coins
